Where I am while I am DEPLOYED TO FL.
Well I don’t have pictures to put up because I think if I tried to take a picture of where I work I would be called into question and I don’t want to talk to Air Force Security cops. They are typically 18 to 24 years of age nervous and inching for action, holding a loaded weapon and listening to their disgruntled NCO tell them what they need to do to be effective in their job performance. Anyway, where I work is very easy to understand since we can all think back to September 11, 2001. It is a part of the NORAD defense and primarily the main mission is to protect the home land. Any and all air planes flying to close to important sights or watching for other things in the sky. It is truly amazing to think back to that fateful day and know this command was in charge of scrambling war planes and making sure the President of the United States was safe. They have a memorial of 9-11 where I work and it is a great privilege to be a part of something so important and so essential to the countries safety. I thought this deployment was going to be a joke, in some ways it is, but in other ways I couldn't have asked for anything more to make my career complete. So there you go hope it makes sense but I wanted all of you to know what I am doing in FL.

The last weekend of June
The last weekend of June was the weekend Stacey came to be with me. This was the first time we actually had four days to ourselves since we got married. It was awesome but it went by so fast too. We had a lot of fun. It decided to rain the whole time she was here. We did make to the beach between the rain storms. Here are some pictures of the trip, they are might be the same on her blog but then again we didn’t take that many pictures. We did see the Love Guru, which is a totally funny Mike Myers movie. Great stuff if you like him. All I can say is those four days went by so fast and now this past week with-out her has gone by soooooooooooooooooooooooo slow just hope the last two month won’t take as long as this one week. I really miss home right now, all my kids the events taking place missing them doing exciting things. Brayden's birthday is on Monday and next month is Kyle’s. Between those two birthdays I'll turn 38. Ah fun stuff!

Colorful

There was a song that came out in 2001 called Colorful by The Verve Pipe. I found it and didn't have anyone to share it with till sj and I met in 2002. Back in the days of dial-up. Anyway I always tried to pretend that I had a special song with ex-girl friends or exes in general but I never really did. Well that is how it use to be till sj and I met and the song I heard in Korea in 2001 actually had meaning to me. I sent it to her and it made her cry. It has made me cry at different times too and it has an impact on me that is really deep and connected to sj. I can't explain it, but it describes me and my life with sj. I LOVE YOU SJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you want to listen to it, you can find it in the play list linked to this page.

The show is over close the story book
There will be no encore
And all the random hands that I have shook
Well theyre reaching for the door
I watch their backs as they leave single file
But you stood stubborn, cheering all the while
I know I can be colorful
I know I can be gray
But I know this losers living fortunate
Cause I know you will love me either way
Most were being good for goodness sake
But you wouldnt pantomime
You are more beautiful when you awake
Than most are in a lifetime
Through the haze that is my memory well
You stayed for drama though you paid for a comedy
I know I can be colorful
I know I can be gray
But I know this losers living fortunate
Cause I know you will love me either way
Look ahead as far as you can see
Well live in drama but well die in a comedy
I know I can be colorful...

Keeping a relationship going
Keeping a relationship going. When you are separated by distance is not fun. People in the military seem to figure out good ways though to work on their relationship. For Stacey and me, we talk a lot on the cell phone send pictures to each other, text each other and we use web cams to talk. Here are two pictures of us using web cams.

Makes life so much easier. But then to think back to how things use to be, how for many years all people had was letters and an occasional picture. Life has become so much easier to work on relationships that we may take things for granted. I know for myself I was so concerned about having internet when I got to FL just so I could talk to SJ and the kids. Oh well life goes on and it has almost been one month since I left. That is a nice thing to think about!!!!!
