December 28, Happy Anniversary!!!!!

Well it has been six years since Stacey and I got married. Six years. The time has gone by so fast and yet it doesn’t seem as if six years have past, if that makes sense. We still act like we did when we first got married. The only difference is now our kids our older, we have some and I say some gray hair. Other than that, though we are pretty much the same. It is great when you are in love and the one you spend your life with is your best friend. We don’t go out much, we would like to but you know we seem to be content at times just staying at home spending time with each other while working on our hobbies or playing video games or watching that 70’s show. Somehow this year has become a big 70’s show kick. We watch it all the time and laugh nonstop. Anyway, I just wanted to say to Stacey that I love you and I am so lucky to have you in my life and to have you by my side, as my wife, and best friend.
You are sexy hot and extremely talented in so many ways. You never cease to amaze me the stuff you do and how easy it comes to you. We have so much to accomplish still but I look back at these past six years and they have been the easiest in my life because you have been there by my side.

We may see gray more and more each day, but I will never stop falling for you and your beauty both out and in. I will always need you by my side. You are so much more to me then words can explain and hopefully someday, real soon we will own a home where I can carry you across the threshold and call our own!!!!!
I love you smile, your personality, your humor. You put up with so much from me and the baggage I brought into our relationship and I can never forget how easily you took all that in. I LOVE YOU SJ. I LOVE YOU MORE THEN YOU WILL EVER KNOW. Happy anniversary!!!!!

Christmas Past and Present, from the Battle of the Bulge 1944 to Today!

Hello everyone!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and I hope everyone is doing great for this time of year. I love this time of year. The atmosphere, the decorations. We had all the kids for thanksgiving and they decorated they way they usually do the Friday after turkey day. HEE HEE it is awesome.
Beside the very spiritual side of Christmas and the true meaning of why we in my family really celebrate Christmas and that being the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ, I look forward to this time of year because I love to remember the past and look forward to the future Christmas mornings “when everything is right with the world.”
First is the memories of years past and the biggest being of this time of year and when SJ and I met and got married three days after Christmas in 2002. Man nothing could have been better than that. Bennett’s BBQ, Temple Square lights, Christmas parties at her and my work. All of these won’t mean anything to others, but they mean so much to SJ and me.

Another set of memories is when I was on my mission and the first time I experienced an Ohio Winter storm and driving through Amish country on Christmas day two days out on my mission 1989. Man that was crazy!! Or I think of tracking in Sandusky Ohio 1990 or Youngstown Ohio 1991. I don’t have any pictures scanned from my mission so you would have to use your imaginations about the winter storms.

I also remember being a thirteen year old teenager and going to the dollar theater in Albuquerque to watch A Christmas Story with my friend Jeff Horne and totally loving the movie. The red rider BB gun, the lamp, yeah STATUE...... FRA GIL eee..... I Double Dog DARE YOU or “You’ll shoot your eye out kid, HO HO HO”!!!!! I have to say that the movie has a sentimental tie to me and my history. First off, the youthful memories of that, second watching that movie twenty-four hours every Christmas and Christmas-eve on TNT, and last that it was filmed where I served my mission in Cleveland Ohio on Cleveland st.

Now as a history buff, another part of Christmas for me is to remember the Battle of The Bulge 1944. I read and study that part of history over and over again. So many stories, so many heroics, and so many lives changed. My back ground for my blog is of a soldier during the Bulge in the Ardennes forest. I cannot imagine what our veterans from that time went through. Their sacrifices, their loyalty and patriotism to defend our way of life and to die for what we live and believe in today on a foreign soild frozen and not ever knowing when and if they get home. Fighting off a huge German offensive and to be as true Americans are, dependable and true to the fighting end. I love reading about it all. Those are such true heroes to me and always think about their sacrifices for us on 16 Dec 1944 all the way through the end of the month. So when we are all warm this year and enjoying this time of season, maybe think about our countires important past and about cold, shivering soldiers, living in fox holes suffering frost bite, or trench foot, having no hot showers or hot place to sleep or eat a warm meal, living on K rations and on Christmas day a cold turkey meal and be thankful for this country and the world that has been provided for us from their giving sacrifices.

My words don't do justice but to me that is Christmas. SJ, my family, my mission memories, A Christmas Story, and The Battle of the Bulge. I have been giving so much and blessed with so much in my life and it makes me not take these things for granted because I cherish all of these memories and the new memories I make with my family each year. Especially with my love of my life SJ. Man what a woman, and a mother. She is hot too by the way. I love my kids and that is what I love about Christmas!!!!!! Also I love my Mom and Dad and sisters. The memories we had recording into a tape player waiting for Santa to come!!! I love all of my memories and realize that my parents did a great job. Hope my kids can have great memories like I have when they grow up!!!

Tricks or Treat

Nothing is better then The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.
Well this week is Halloween. I remember once when I was a teen all my friend decided that we wanted to trick or treating, but we felt like we were to old. We were in fact, because we were in High School. But it was all Priests from the same ward, and we had a tight group of guys that hung out all the time. Anyway we all dressed up as Christmas carolers and went to several of the members homes and we sang one song. It was fun. I don’t remember how much candy we got, but I remember just being stupid and having fun ideas like that. To this day many of us stay i contact, and that is the cool thing. Now our kids are getting older and you start remeber more things that you did when they reach certian ages. Not sure if that is good or bad. Ahhhh good times....remember? You were there, I was there... So happy All Hallows eve and hopefully there will be some other type of update.
Oh ya by the way three years ago we all dressed up as star wars characters, all the boys were jedi and I was sith. SJ was Padme and the girls were both Princes Leah. That was fun. Ahhhh good times, remember, you were there, I was there...

Padme
Little Leah

Darth Maul and yes I painted my own face!!!!

The little jedi and bigger Leah. Ben was Luke, Brayden was Anakin and Kyle was Obi-One Kenobi. SJ made all of the costumes by hand. Pretty cool. I think she broke like two or three needles. Ahhh good times, good times, remember? You were there, I was there........

What's important

You never want to go through life disappointing the one that you love. Even more you don’t want to go through life feeling as if you fail at the expected and required needs of your family. I face challenges all the time but what kills the most is when I know I can do better and make those who I love suffer because of stupid selfish mistakes. Sorry sj. I love you!!!!

While I was in FL.

When I was in FL I had the opportunity to reenlist. I choose to reenlist because of the significance that location has on the rest of the United States and how it relates to the events that took place on September 11, 2001. The deployment that I was a part of was created after 9-11 to help control and maintain this countries security. Basically, the command is to defend the air space by protecting and defend this country 24/7. It is a part of NORAD which has been a around for over fifty years and which I have had a privilege to serve under for six years of my military career.
So with that being said there is a monument that not many people will see that has remnants of the world trade center, the pentagon and Somerset County, PA. where we lost so many innocent but brave people that day.

The pictures were taken on the day that I reenlisted for my second to last time. I am standing by a portion of a metal beam from the twin towers, no one that works for that command at that location will ever forget that day. They can’t because they walk past this monument every single day.
The pictures are not the best, it was a crummy camera, but it was the only thing we had that was authorized behind the fence. Enjoy!!!! And never take this life nor this country or the freedom that we all so cherish for granted. Always believe in this country and believe that we are being guided by the divine hand of our Father in Heaven.

What I do when I am in my hotel room.

Well many times I find myself in the hotel room doing nothing. I have been learning how to paint with acrylics paints and it has been a completely new experience. I took some pics of my work in progress and hope to have a couple of them done before I get home. Also where I work and how I have no room.

What else do I do? I take pics of my self and make stupid faces. I also get to see the weather from the top floor. I took some really cool picks of a major down poor a few weeks back. When it rains here is pours. Anyway, one more month and I will be home. I look forward to my life back in Colorado and to be around my wife and kids.

Ahhhh and the second part to all of this that makes it exciting is it’s almost fall, meaning when I get back BRONCOS WILL BE PLAYING! HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS WILL BE STARTING TO DISPLAY IN STORES AND THAT NICE CRISP SMELL OF FALL WILL START TO APPEAR AT NIGHT, YOU KNOW WHEN THE LEAVES START CHANGING AND YOU CAN JUST SMELL IT!!!!!!!!!! Sorry for yelling but I get excited for that time of year!

Where I am while I am DEPLOYED TO FL.

Well I don’t have pictures to put up because I think if I tried to take a picture of where I work I would be called into question and I don’t want to talk to Air Force Security cops. They are typically 18 to 24 years of age nervous and inching for action, holding a loaded weapon and listening to their disgruntled NCO tell them what they need to do to be effective in their job performance. Anyway, where I work is very easy to understand since we can all think back to September 11, 2001. It is a part of the NORAD defense and primarily the main mission is to protect the home land. Any and all air planes flying to close to important sights or watching for other things in the sky. It is truly amazing to think back to that fateful day and know this command was in charge of scrambling war planes and making sure the President of the United States was safe. They have a memorial of 9-11 where I work and it is a great privilege to be a part of something so important and so essential to the countries safety. I thought this deployment was going to be a joke, in some ways it is, but in other ways I couldn't have asked for anything more to make my career complete. So there you go hope it makes sense but I wanted all of you to know what I am doing in FL.
